Frith - Derived from Old English friðu, friþ, it is cognate to Old Norse friðr, Old High German fridu,
 German Friede,  Dutch vrede,  West Frisian frede,Icelandic friður, Common Scandinavian fred 
(all with meanings similar to  "peace" or "calm")  and also root-cognate to friend.

Frithstead is an open fellowship serving the Southern New Hampshire area.  We honor the pre-christian religion indigenous to Northern Europe.  While our outward focus is Anglo-Saxon Heathenry/paganism, also known as 
Ésatréow, we explore and learn from Germanic Heathenry as a whole, in customs, myths, and beliefs.

We are a small, yet merry band of heathens, who connect with and honor our Gods, Goddesses, ancestors, and the spirits of the land and nature. We hold public rituals, study groups, and are working on creating community service events as we seek to better our world and ourselves.  We welcome others who, in the spirit of Frith, are interested in joining us in our commitment to practicing, teaching, and developing a viable and inspiring spirituality for today!

You do not need to be a member to take part in most Frithstead events.  We are open to all who wish to honor the cycles of Nature, and revere the Ancestors and Deities, whether one identifies as Pagan, Heathen or Wiccan  - you a welcome.   We acknowledge, respect, and deeply appreciate the beliefs and practices of other faiths and simply require the same when participating in our study groups and rites.


While we recognize the importance and value of cultural inheritance and tradition, we welcome all people, whatever their cultural, or ancestral background, gender or sexual orientation, who would like to know more about modern Heathenry.
